Cookies
Why there is no consent banner here
Because we do not set anything that needs one. No advertising pixels, no analytics that follow you off this site, nothing sold to anybody.
Under the ePrivacy rules, consent is needed for cookies that are not strictly necessary for a service you asked for. The cookies BizBoard sets are the ones that make signing in, staying signed in and reading the site in your own language work. A banner asking permission to do those things would be theatre.
What is set on the public site
Nothing until you interact with it. Browsing these pages sets no cookie at all.
If you choose a language from the switcher, a cookie records that choice so the next page is in the same language. If you switch the site to dark mode, that preference is kept in your browser's local storage — it never leaves your machine and we never see it.
What is set once you sign in
| Cookie | What it is for | How long |
|---|---|---|
Authentication |
Keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Without it every page would ask for your password again. | The session, or longer if you tick Remember me |
.AspNetCore.Culture |
The language you chose, so pages render in it. | One year |
Antiforgery |
Proves a form submission came from a page we served, which is what stops another site submitting forms as you. | The session |
Current business |
Which of your businesses you are looking at, if you have more than one. | The session |
What we do not set
- No advertising or retargeting pixels. There is no Meta pixel, no Google Ads tag and no LinkedIn Insight tag on this site.
- No third-party analytics that profile you across other websites.
- No social media embeds that load trackers before you click anything.
- No fonts loaded from another company's servers — the typefaces on this site are served from our own, which is also why your IP address is not handed to a font provider in order to read a page.
Turning them off
Your browser can block or delete cookies for this site. Blocking the authentication and antiforgery cookies will stop you being able to sign in, because those are the mechanism by which signing in works.
If this changes
If we ever add something that does need consent, you will get a proper choice before it runs, and this page will say what it is. It will not be added quietly.
